Is Free Alternative Energy Possible

by Jeff Grundy

Certain researchers have claimed taking energy out of the atmosphere is not only plausible but attainable.

This energy has been nick named free energy. The questions are many, does it really exist or not, would the cost of capturing it be excessive, is it truly abundant and efficient. The proponents of Free Energy would have you think so.

The emerging study of Free Energy is already split on it meaning. One sect believes it refers to the actual device needed in collecting the new energy source. While others believe it to be the process of transmitting the energy to earth.

I don’t think even the most optimistic inventors believe in a machine that once turned on and never needing additional energy is possible.

Yet with ever increasing technological advances, harnessing the energy floating in the atmosphere seems realistic. Often what was impossible only a few years ago becomes possible. The utilization of atomic power in the 40’s and the Wright Brother’s flight are just two examples.

So what is Free Energy. One definition is the energy can be found in vast amounts from the Zero Point Field. This is a quantum mechanical state of matter that is at it’s lowest possible state of energy.

Believe or not in 1913 both Otto Stern and Albert Einstein suggested the use of Free Energy as a form of alternative energy. They called it residual energy.

Another name for this energy is vacuum energy in the study of quantum mechanics. This is said to represent the energy of totally empty space. It has been described as the froth at the base of a waterfall by one of the principal researchers.

The concept is certainly interesting. Although I think I will keep paying my electric bill for now. Whether it is real or not, I believe the research is a necessity in todays world situation. Anything we can do to reduce the environmental pollution is a plus.
